It can be hard to look at a sticky situation in life and pull enjoyment out of them. But this outlook on life makes things so much easier. Fields of Favor is a place where you can learn to romp through those areas. It’s possible to have fun and enjoy yourself even while you acknowledge that, where you are? Not great. It’s hard, and you’d prefer to be where the grass is greener. A little secret? The grass is greener where you water it. Favored fields aren’t always pretty at the outset, but all it takes is for the landowner to see and cultivate the potential. We can help with that! It can be easy to look at a field with flowers, berry bushes, and fruit trees and not think of the work that had to be done to arrive at that result. However, the field wouldn’t be such a beautiful place without that work. Without someone that went through and removed rocks and roots and pitfalls, it’d be much harder to run and romp. After the work is done to improve your view of the sticky situation, it can still be hard to romp. It can seem silly and undignified, and it’s not guaranteed you won’t stumble and fall. But the enjoyment is worth it. And easier when you have people beside you willing to join in the celebration and silliness. The people you do life with can make your journey enjoyable or painful. Pick your tribe carefully, and have fun. Here are a few areas we know we can help with.
Things these days are made to break and be cheap. All that ends up doing is taking more money out of your pocket as you have to buy a replacement. They’re not made for function and beauty; they’re made to take your money. And that’s a sticky situation no one needs, these days. Dressed Lilies is different. We sell handmade, quality products with a repair guarantee–if it breaks, gather the pieces and mail it back. We will fix it and send you the repaired version. If the material is no longer made in that dye lot, we will work with you to come to a solution. Also. Ladies–how do deeper pockets sound? And the ability to turn fake pockets into real ones? We’re currently learning how to provide you with just that, as well as expanding the modest fashion niche. (Talk about a sticky situation. Have you ever tried to go shopping for something nice that covered everything you wanted covered? Hemlines, necklines, bra straps, decent opaqueness of cloth? All-day nightmare.) From toys to jewelry to around-the-house helpers, we’ve got you covered. Check out a few of our newest products, below! (That fashion thing is coming in the future. Taking a hot minute. Sign up for the email list for updates on style releases, and you’ll be the first to know!) (Psst… check out our stuffed animals–they each come with their own little story. These stories may be compiled into a book soon. Who knows? Shhh… 😉 )
Life doesn’t stop, and your commitments at the end of the year are rarely exactly what they were in January or June… So why should the way you keep track of it all be the same?
Sit down with me and let’s design and set up a planner that changes to fit and track YOUR schedule – no one else’s.
There will be the opportunity to make this meeting recurring to make sure your planner changes and evolves with your schedule throughout the months.
Dear Writer, Do you feel the weight of untold stories pressing on your shoulders? Are you haunted by characters who whisper their tales in the dead of night, only for their voices to fade in the harsh light of your computer screen? You’re not alone. Every writer knows the sting of writer’s block, the frustration of a plot that twists out of control, and the longing to share their work with an audience that understands. I’ve been where you are – staring into the abyss of a blank page, feeling the cold shadow of doubt creeping in. But what if I told you there’s a place where those struggles dissolve into the warmth of companionship and guidance? A community where the solitary journey of writing becomes a shared adventure, filled with the support and celebration of fellow writers.
Welcome to the Abiding Hedera Bootcamp – a sanctuary for writers.
It can be so easy to see a service dog in public and assume you know what life with a service dog is like. It can be easy to look at your given situation and assume a service dog would be the most helpful solution. Beware the sticky situation both of these can cause! We’re willing to bet there’s a lot you’re not seeing. What don’t you know about life with a service dog? Do you not know to think about certain before diving into this lifestyle simply because you have no frame of reference? What are the hidden pitfalls and traps you can fall into? How do you find a trainer or system to help you set your dog up for success? The right dog? How do you act around your friend/family member’s new service dog? (And how do you politely say you’re not at all sure they are a service dog? Have you seen the way that animal behaves around the house? Nightmare. Fake service dog right here for sure, right? …maybe not, actually.) A sticky situation like any of the above (or several thrown together) is exactly what the book Six Feet to Independence and a Service Dog Doula helps you understand and prepare for.
It can be easy to assume you know what someone means when they say “seizure.” But not every seizure is a grand mal/tonic-clonic that resembles what you’re thinking. Absence seizures (also called petite mals) aren’t big and don’t catch attention like a tonic-clonic. Take it from someone that has lived with absence seizures for nearly two decades; this doesn’t mean they’re easy to live with. Seizures in general can cause many a sticky situation. Especially when the seizures aren’t a kind people are normally aware of or know to look out for. Are you someone struggling with this health challenge for the first time? Do you have a family member that you recently found to have absence seizures? Let’s sit down and talk. What will happen?
- Release your fears, frustrations, and questions.
- Walk away with a better understanding of the situation and what life with absence seizures is truly like.
- Discuss ways to address and cope with this sticky situation. This will work for caretakers, friends, family, and those going through it themselves.
- Bring up and consider non-pharmacological ways of addressing absence seizures so you know your options.
- Discuss opportunities for seizure response service dogs.
- Discuss ways earning an income may look different, but still be possible.
- Go over anything else you’d like to cover.
Any of the above are optional.
