Blessing Counting #2 (5)
1. His sleep positions.
I know I covered this last time, but may I introduce you to:
The ‘I found a spot’
(Yes, I know it’s bad quality, but my phone doesn’t use the flash well, and, as previously stated, he’s generally a black void of unphotogenic-ness.)
The dragon:
He is genuinely laying on his antler in this one. People, he is LAYING on his TREASURE!
2. He LOVES to run.
Yes, sometimes it results in me getting scraped up something awful, other times he gets covered in prickers, but he so genuinely loves to run, I just have to smile.
3. He is okay spending down time in his crate.
Story time!
When I first got the little puppy–and he was much smaller by comparison–
When we first got him, I kept him awake and active all. the. time. Frankly, I didn’t realize how young he was, and I was just coming off my time with Ozzy, who was an amazing, but slightly energetic hound dog. So I went into this bracing myself for that level of energy and ending up with basically no down time.
Slowly–with encouragement from my mum–I began to sprinkle in naps. Now, he has what basically amounts to a four-hour nap. It’s in increments throughout the day, but, put it all together, and that’s what you get.
Now, he’s fine just chilling in the crate if he doesn’t sleep the entire time, and I have at least one antler in there to keep him busy, too.
Thusly, I get time to work on my crochet stuff and this!
4. He’s getting more comfortable with snuggles.
I only managed to get pictures of Jo, but he’s been happy to do this kind of thing to almost all of us. (He and Mom have a strictly business relationship. 😉)
5. His quasi-willingness to learn
Okay, I know I did ‘his intelligence’ before, but this is different. I have been told, on two separate occasions, that I have been pushing work too hard. First, I was basically told “learn to play” and, the more recent of the two, “learn to relax”. Both things that, according to Mom, I’ve been resisting learning for 19 years. Can you say workaholic? But, as with exercising, if I need to do it for the sake of teaching a dependent, I’m apparently more ready to make the commitment than if it’s just for myself. 😅
