Adolescent Poodle Predicaments
Hey y’all!
Y’all heeeeeyyyy!
I’m going to start off with a riddle.
If you have a dog that
- Finds shoes, feet, butts, and hands the best chew toys ever!
- Refuses to get into the car without a treat/hooman inside even though he’s done it before and loves being out.
- Is freaked out by a squeaky chicken even though this:
is him playing with his moose.
- Can switch from being the sweetest boy ever to a little Tasmanian devil and back again in the blink of an eye.
- Loves going outside and would stay out there all. the. time. heat exhaustion notwithstanding. (For either of us.)
- Has decided the best way to tell Hooman she needs to stop working is to either run around with unmentionables or chew on a hanger.
- Treats training sessions like this:
- Thinks that which sparks his fear stage simply doesn’t know he’s Alpha. Solution? All the barks!
What do you get?
An…. adolescent puppy!
🥴 🤪
So, yeah. That’s where we are. My tricks for it?
A kong.
Frozen Mangoes.
A ball (and a Puppy’s willingness to fetch)
Chews.
Some creativity with obstacle courses.
Outings.
Treats.
And knowing it won’t last forever.
…even though it’ll come back. 🥵
But this is what I signed up for. And I’m not about to give up.
Why?
Because neither of us was born to fail and I’ll be darned if I let fear do us in.
…again.
💜You weren’t born to fail, either, my friends!💜
Lauryn
P.S. He’s still adorable, and fear stages are tiring.
Thank you Lauryn for this new entry.
Looks to me that you have a very beautiful and healthy little or big poppy!
You said earlier that you wanted to become more and more playful, your doggy has understood it!
Enjoy the day!
Love to both of you
